Every year on February 2nd, Americans wait anxiously to see if the groundhog will see his shadow. The “holiday” is so well known that there is even a popular movie titled Groundhog Day. Although scientists will tell you there is no connection between the duration of winter and the groundhog seeing its shadow, many are still interested every year.

Everyone will give you a different reason for why they pay attention to what Punxsutawney Phil sees. Regardless of the reasons, it is hard not to think about when the snow will melt and spring will finally arrive. When you think about it, it is an amazing phenomenon: a small creature that has no significant qualifications gets tons of publicity from the media and impacts what many believe. It makes you wonder what you are capable of doing with your education, work experience, and life experiences, doesn’t it?
